Why is my transaction not included in the calculation?
If you’ve added a transaction but it’s not reflected in your portfolio calculations, this may happen for several reasons. Below are the most common cases:
1. Transaction added on the current date before market opens
If you added a trade for today’s date and the regular trading session for the instrument hasn’t opened yet, the transaction won’t be included in calculations. It will only appear in the Transactions tab until the session opens.
Example:
You added a trade for NASDAQ:AAPL on today’s date before 09:30 AM (ET). It will only be included in the calculations after the market opens — at 09:30 AM (ET). Note: If you’re tracking a real (non-model) portfolio in the service, this situation is unlikely.
2. Portfolio is locked due to exceeding the portfolio limit
If you’ve exceeded the allowed number of portfolios under your subscription, the current portfolio will be locked. In this case:
- You can continue adding transactions within the limit;
- But they will not be included in calculations until the portfolio is unlocked.
3. Metrics are currently being recalculated
After adding a transaction, the portfolio undergoes recalculation. During this process, you’ll see the status: “Updating your data…” The transaction will only be included after the calculation is complete, and you’ll see the message: “Your data has been updated successfully.”
