CONTENTS:
How to use the Economic Calendar
The Calendar first lists the time of the announcement or report release and then the country it came from. Right next to the country, you can see a small graph illustrating the importance of the event so that you can quickly assess what requires immediate attention.
Then comes the event itself — it can be economic data, employment reports, central bank announcements, shifts in government policy, and even tweets from certain world leaders, practically everything that may influence markets.
By clicking on the event, you will see its description and three options:
- Launch chart: Opens a detailed chart of the indicator
- See overview: Sends you to the indicator's symbol page with the chart, news, and other related information
- Add to calendar: Adds the event to your Google calendar to make sure you don't miss it
On the upper toolbar, you'll also find the names on the three columns:
- Actual: Shows the actual value of the indicators as opposed to what was expected — this can help you better evaluate past reports
- Forecast: Shows the forecast for the indicator, which many traders use to develop more thought-out strategies
- Prior: Includes the previous values of the indicators — all to see the full scale of the economic event
Economic Calendar filters
Now that you're familiar with what the Economic Calendar contains, let's see what you can do to focus on the information that may help with your analysis:
- Countries: Lets you choose one or several countries to receive reports from. You can always set this filter to the "Entire world" if your strategy requires data from all possible sources
- High importance: When it's on, this mode shows only events with the highest importance so that you can focus on key data
- Period options: With just one button, you can choose to see only upcoming economic events, past reports that took place yesterday, or events to be announced today, tomorrow, and this week
- Categories menu: Select a category to see only the kind of announcements related to interest rates, inflation, bonds, etc. If you don't look for anything specific, just settle with the "All categories," which is used by default
- Time zone: To make your search for events even more precise, you can use this filter to choose a necessary time zone
With the right filters and careful research of the data found, the Economic Calendar can become a powerful tool for global markets analysis.
Economic Calendar and Supercharts

You can also split view your screen and adjust the sizes of each separate window. All the functionality remains the same, only that you don't need to interrupt your research.
Moreover, make sure you find the gear button and access the Supercharts settings. There, navigate to the "Events" tab. Depending on the type of the asset you're charting, you'll find different economic events to display on your chart.
For broad indices, futures, and other asset types you're able to add to your Supercharts economic events that come from the Economic Calendar.
