VXF Attracts $770M as Trump Tariffs Spark Selloff
The Vanguard Extended Market ETF (VXF) pulled in $770.3 million Monday, bringing its assets under management to $23.7 billion, according to data provided by FactSet. The inflows came as the Dow Jones Industrial Average tumbled 422 points after President Donald Trump announced new tariffs on imports from seven countries beginning August 1.
The SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust (SPY) attracted $1.7 billion, while the iShares Core MSCI Emerging Markets ETF (IEMG) collected $617.6 million. The iShares Core S&P 500 ETF (IVV) pulled in $565.8 million, and the First Trust Large Cap Growth AlphaDEX Fund (FTC) gained $295.7 million.
The Invesco QQQ Trust (QQQ) saw outflows of $2.3 billion as the Nasdaq-100 dropped 0.8%, while the Vanguard Total Stock Market ETF (VTI) lost $858.6 million. The iShares iBoxx $ Investment Grade Corporate Bond ETF (LQD) experienced outflows of $283.4 million.
U.S. equity ETFs gained $1.8 billion despite the S&P 500 falling 0.8%, while international equity ETFs attracted $1.7 billion. U.S. fixed-income ETFs pulled in $720.7 million. Overall, ETFs gained $5.7 billion for the day.
