XEC Info

eCash (XEC) is a blockchain-based digital currency platform developed to facilitate peer-to-peer (P2P) transactions and electronic cash transfers, alongside its ability to interact with different blockchain networks. The platform originates as a reconfigured version of Bitcoin Cash ABC, itself a fork of Bitcoin Cash, which was forked from Bitcoin. The eCash protocol also supports rapid transaction confirmations, low transaction fees, and ensures transaction privacy.

The eCash currency units, termed as “bits”, have been developed as an accessible substitute for Bitcoin’s complex fractional divisibility into Satoshi. A distinctive feature of eCash that sets it apart from Bitcoin Cash is the integration of a consensus algorithm known as Avalanche. This algorithm, unconnected to the Avalanche blockchain, serves as an alternative to the conventional proof-of-work (PoW) consensus model.

Consequently, eCash employs a consensus mechanism that diverges from that of its predecessor network and other Bitcoin forks.
