📱 Next-Gen Power for Samsung’s Flagship Foldable

The new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 will be powered globally by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy—the company’s most advanced mobile platform to date. Built with the ultra-fast Oryon CPU and Hexagon NPU, the chip enables on-device multimodal AI, combining speech, context, and image understanding directly on the phone.

The Galaxy Z Fold7 marks a major step in Qualcomm and Samsung’s long-running partnership, pushing AI and performance to new heights in a foldable form factor. With Galaxy AI and Snapdragon 8 Elite, Samsung aims to redefine how users interact with mobile tech.

⚖️ At the Same Time, Qualcomm Is Settling a $75M Investor Lawsuit

While pushing innovation forward, Qualcomm is also closing the door on a major legal issue. The company agreed to pay $75 million to settle claims from investors who sued over alleged anticompetitive practices and poor financial controls.

The case stems from a 2017 FTC complaint that accused Qualcomm of:

  • Overcharging for licenses
  • Refusing to sell chips to firms that didn’t agree to unfair terms
  • Offering Apple incentives for exclusive chip use

After the FTC complaint became public, QCOM fell over 18% in two days, and a class action followed. Investors argued that Qualcomm’s practices misled the market and exposed them to unnecessary risk.

Now, the company has settled those claims—and if you bought QCOM shares between February 1, 2012, and November 8, 2024, you may still be eligible to file a claim.
