The S&P has taken a major hit today, down over 2%.
The question remains, with a plummet, where it will find support. The range targetted for a SHORT is shown by crossing the Sept. low. This is no endorsement of that movement, but merely something of a "WHAT IF" and a potential look at the eventual bottom-side ifSPY fails to find support this week. As of right now, the volatility is high, and opinions range re: the futures of the S&P.
Certainly, a retrace to 322/s could even trigger a bigger sell-off, but that is little more than a hypothetical at this point. It is still one that should be taken seriously as we watch to see what happens with SPY.
Perhaps some prudent investors are parking their funds already, as the recovery has been more than slow, but barely occurring in the second half of Monday's trading session. With the Presidential election looming Nov 3, there is still over a week for the bottom to fall out due to the uncertainty on the part of both retail investors and the big boys. Right now, the bears are definitely having their way.
LONG? SHORT?
Tough to say. The only thing that is certain is that a retrace to the 322 level would be a near-disaster for either Donald Trump or Joe Biden to inherit: That is to imply they both watch & care (they don't). Brace yourself, but prepare if that 322 dip happens because it is a bit of an omen for potential new lows if it is both reached and no support is found at that point.
