Quantum computing is making the news so much lately it's ridiculous.
I find the coin very interesting since it uses a newer kind of encryption. As someone who works in the Cyber Security industry i know that it's just a matter of time before RSA encryption gets broken thanks to newer computing systems.
QRL however utilizes a new signature scheme which makes it impregnable.
Right now it's still a ERC220 token (ETH) but there mainnet is almost done they are targetting next month
Then you swap those tokens for coins via Trex.
Apart from just the coin as a hedge or transaction it has the possibility of sending messages using that scheme which makes it the most secure messaging protocol possibly in existence once launched, also staking on phone /VPN/VoIP etc
