Futures moved higher

U.S. stock futures edged up on Wednesday, signaling a recovery in the stock market after a sell-off in the previous session sparked by investor concerns about a prolonged period of higher interest rates.

At 05:07 ET (09:07 GMT), the Dow Jones contract was up 103 points or 0.3%, the S&P 500 was up 18 points or 0.4% and Nasdaq 100 futures were up 61 points or 0.4%. .

Wall Street's major indexes all slid on Tuesday, with the 30-stock Dow Jones Industrial Average in particular falling to its worst day since March. New data showed consumer confidence fell to a four-month low in September as rising prices and recession fears weighed on sentiment.
