Use the identification guidelines to select cups—Table 9.1.
Select cups in a bull market and avoid those in a bear market
Cups in a bull market have a lower failure rate
Select cups with breakouts near the yearly low
After the breakout, prices take longer to reach the ultimate high in a bull market, giving them a better chance of a larger gain
Pick tall cups
Choose cups with short handles and higher left cup lips
Cups with U-shaped volume perform best
