AMD Option Sellers Idea - 100p 125c strangle
Spotted this one scanning my watchlist tonight. I missed the pullback to 100, but this one looks poised for upwards + sideways movement in the weeks ahead. Here is a position I'm considering to put on tomorrow...
November 19 2021 Expiration
1. Sell 1 x $100 naked Put
2. Sell 1 x $125 naked Call
IV Rank still in the 30s. You may be able to sell that strangle for $6 dollars (6x100 shares = $600). That will define your profit range from $94 to $131. For my broker I have to put up $1650 in margin to try and grab that $600.
Over the next few weeks I'd expect to get tested to the upside, so you could cap the risk and buy the $130 call. When reviewing the credit after the extra long call, it was still $510, longer than our 5 dollar wide call spread so there is no risk to the upside at all.
Let's see how this plays out. I'm going to roll the put up as the price climbs, and I may stay aggressive with the rolls, I really like the setup here in AMD.
