The Projection Bands were created by Mel Widner (Stocks and Commodities Jul 1995) and this indicator and the other two that rely on this one (I will publish them later) are very underappreciated in my humble opinion. The biggest strength of this indicator is the fact that it is a leading indicator for dramatic price movements. As you can see in my example chart it...
Simple way how to use Linear Regression for trading.
What we use:
• Linear Regression
• HMA as a trend filter
Firstly we make simple linear regression moving. It is the white line which appears on the chart.
Then we make second line (named: band2) on the chart by multiplying linreg and value difference.
The third step is to ad HMA as a trend filter.
This here is my take on the popular VWAP indicator with several novel features including:
Dual EMA smoothing.
Arithmetic and Harmonic Mean plots.
Custom Anchor feat. Intraday Session Sizes.
2 Pairs of Bands.
Side Input for Connection to other Indicator.
This can be used 'out of the box' as a replacement VWAP, benefitting from smoother...
Updating an older concept here with some more oversold/overbought zones.
Pretty self explanatory, red zone indicate overbought zones and green zone is a oversold. Often, price likes to bounce off of the lower bounds of these zones, but it can sometimes extend all the way through the zone onto the upper boundary.
There are many lines to this indicator, i prefer...
This is an experimental study designed to forecast the range of price movement from a specified starting point using a Monte Carlo simulation.
Monte Carlo experiments are a broad class of computational algorithms that utilize random sampling to derive real world numerical results.
These types of algorithms have a number of applications in numerous fields of study...
This is a simple experimental study designed to outline trend activity and volatility.
In this study, the amount of change between current source and source of a specified lookback is calculated, then added to and subtracted from current source.
Next an exponential moving average is taken of the values for smoothing over the specified period.
Lastly, a midline is...
These 2 indicators are derivative work from Jim Hurst's book - "The Magic of Stock Transaction Timing".
The bands are % bands around a median that gets calculated according to Hurst's formula. The outer bands (called ExtremeBands) signify extreme overbought/oversold conditions. Inner bands signify potential pullback points. As you can see, they also act as...
This indicator allows you to add up to 3 volatility bands to VWAP based on its Standard Deviation.
Best use is for intraday but you can choose higher timeframes too.
For day trading a band of 3 standard deviations usually works well as an overbought/oversold region, allowing for mean reversion trading, but you are free to come up with your own strategies.
Returns a moving average allowing the user to control the amount of lag as well as the amplitude of its overshoots thanks to a parametric kernel. The indicator displays alternating extremities and aims to provide potential points where price might reverse.
Due to user requests, we added the option to display the moving average as candles instead of a solid...
What in the world is up folks ??!??
Here's the indicator of the day. Sharing a simple one today because I'm busy coding for a few clients (fun life of a top script author on TradingView)
The TMA bands is an indicator that I discovered on FXCM a few years ago FXCM TMA bands
From the screenshot above, we see that when the price hits the lower band, it's a...
This is an experimental study designed to reverse engineer price levels from centered oscillators at user defined sample rates.
This study aims to educate users on the process of oscillator reverse engineering, and to give users an alternative perspective on some of the most commonly used oscillators in the trading game.
Reverse engineering price levels from an...
VWAP Alerts signal over bought/over sold conditions, relative to volume weighted average price, while deviation bands plot an extremely accurate point of mean reversion.
VWAP Alerts V3 includes multiple timeframe selection, along with multiplier input for deviation band setting
Alerts can be set for each individual band, for extreme oversold/overbought...
Lines are the most widely used figures in technical analysis, this is due to the linear trends that some securities posses (daily log SP500 for example), support and resistances are also responsible for the uses of lines, basically linear support and resistances are made with the assumption that the line connecting two local maximas or minimas will...
This is an experimental adaptive trend following study inspired by Giorgos Siligardos's Reverse Engineering RSI and Tushar S. Chande's Variable Moving Average.
In this study, reverse engineered RSI levels are calculated and used to generate a volatility index for VMA calculation.
First, price levels are calculated for when RSI will equal 70 and 30. The...
Introducing the Robust Channel indicator.
This indicator is based on a remarkable property of robust statistics , namely, the resistance to the presence of data points that deviate significantly from the established trend (generally speaking, outliers ). Being outlier-resistant, the Robust Channel indicator “remembers” a pre-existing trend and thus exhibits...
Introduced by Trace Mayer as a way to gauge the current price of Bitcoin against its long range historical price movements (200 day moving average), the Mayer Multiple highlights when Bitcoin is overbought or oversold in the context of longer time frames.
It's worth noting that as the market becomes larger and less volatile, the peaks are becoming less...
A study of moving averages that utilizes different tricks I've learned to optimize them. Included is Bollinger Bands, Guppy (GMMA) and Super Guppy.
The method used to make it MtF should be more precise and smoother than regular MtF methods that use the security function. For intraday timeframes, each number represents each hour, with 24 equal to 1 day. For daily,...
