This is a useful indicator which allows you to plot multiple fully customized Moving Averages. Here are some of its features:
  • Ability to fine-tune a wide variety of moving averages: smoothing type, periods, offsets, timeframes, sources, thickness, line/label color and text color.
  • Descriptive labels to avoid misreading.
  • Simple and well-organized Input Tab.

Sürüm Notları

  • Ability to plot up to 7 Moving Averages
  • Offset can be positive or negative

Hi. Thanks very much for the indicator. Any chance you'd make a version 2.0 with more moving averages than 3? Perhaps 7? Also could you make it so you can offset negatively as well? Unless I'm missing something you can only offset forward. Thanks again! Great job!

@Rippie, Hi! I've uploaded a new version of the indicator which includes your suggestions. Hope that helps!

Hey do you think its possible to create my own custom moving averages. I have a system that i use but cannot because my moving averages are different from those on think or swim (American platform). I would like to tweak my own moving averages so they can match up but i dont know if its possible.

@alham5211, I'm not familiar with the Think or Swim platform, but most likely you shall be able to replicate the moving averages you are using over there. This indicator is designed to generate countless variations of the most usual moving averages. But if you're dealing with a highly convoluted/customized moving average, then you might need to get a good technical understanding of it in order to port it into Tradingview.

@gliderfund, Thanks for the reply. The moving averages I used on think or swim are just the basic ones provided by the platform, the daily chart on trading view has the exact same standard moving averages as think or swim, but the hourly chart on trading view has different prices for the same moving averages. This has been super confusing for me because Id assume for example the standard 20 sma on hourly charts should be in the same place for both platforms but its not. Its super confusing especially because the daily chart averages are identical its just the hourlys that are different. Id appreciate it if you could help me figure this out it would mean a lot!

@alham5211, that sounds to me like a discrepancy in the price data feed. You might be viewing the same market, but the prices could have slight variations on each platform depending on the market and the type of contract... especially if it isn't a market from an official exchange house (i.e. forex, cfd, etc...). In that case, there's nothing to do. Either you're able to display the same data feed on both platforms, or you need to assume that there might be some price variations in your intraday analysis

@gliderfund, I see. Yes for the think or swim platform they show many more candles for each day as well so i think it has something to do with that. Thanks for your input

how to change text color to black with no label background color. Also how to use this for 1Minute & 5Minute timeframe on a 5minute chart.
gliderfund
@hamaraemailaddress, Hi, you can change the text color through the settings panel. The label background shares the same color as the line, therefore it cannot be removed at the moment.
As for the the timeframe, by default the moving averages draw on the same timeframe as the one selected for the chart. But you could override that and simply select a custom timeframe for a particular line. Hope that helps!
