nothing excessively new here.. a map of standardized trend over multiple lengths, extra parameter for smoothing the input source(close) will remove noise.

@MartinWeb, yes after looking it up it is indeed very alike LonesomeTheBlues Trend Follower script, essentially very close to the same logic
